durian eating and night walk

on the first of our visit to Sungai Besar, Tanjung Karang. We were given the taste of the amazing durian of Tanjung Karang. Although the durian is amazingly tasteful, some of the students which visited Sungai Besar didnt eat these Durians. we were served with 6 bags of durians. each bags consists of 10-12 durians.

kite making


On the evening of the first day of our visit to Tanjung Karang, we were taught on how to make kites. kite making is the tradition of the Javanese culture. One of the main reasons of kite making are  for competitions. Thousands of kites will be on the sky and the last one flying will be dominated as the winner.

nata de coco factory

on our way back to Cyberjaya, we spent about an hour at the nata de coco factory which is located about 5KM from our homestay. there, we were given a demonstration on how nata de coco is produced.

Bahulu and kerepek factory


The name of the company is Hajjah Kasmirah Munasir, Pembekal Makanan Ringan. The factory has been operating for more than 22 years. The age of the owner is 74 years old. Their main products are bahulu. besides from bahulu, they also produce cookies and kerepek. their production is very good, in one day, they can complete 6 boxes of cookies. in one box consists of 24 jars, and in 1 jar containing 50 cookies.

on one tray, less than 150 cookies can be placed.
